Move those goalposts, baby.


It's not us, it's them (all subsequent emphasis leg-humpingly added):

[Ottawa's program manager of transit, marketing and customer service John] Donaldson stressed the decision [to not run atheist bus ads] is not based on what he personally finds offensive, but rather what he and his informal committee thinks other people would find offensive.

OK, I was kidding, it's not really them:

The mayor voted against the motion at council even though he said he had met with religious leaders in the community who said they were not bothered by the ads and welcomed expressions of free speech.

It's a shame we never got to hear the third, completely inconsistent excuse. I'm sure it would have been entertaining.
