Cognitive dissonance, Suzie All-Caps style.

Not surprisingly, fetus-fetishist Suzie All-Caps' left brain is never really quite sure what her right brain is up to. Once upon a time, Suzie was all about the joys of adoption:

It is true that there are large numbers of children waiting to be adopted. And these children are often more difficult to parent than natural children.

But to imply that adoptive parents reject "sub-standard" models because they're necessarily selfish is very insulting for adoptive parents and shows a profound ignorance of the adoption issue.

Adoptive parents must consider what they can take on according to their personal circumstances. It is not necessarily a question of selfishness, but a realistic assessment of what they can take on.

Good point, Suzie. And yet ... and yet ... here's Suzie, all a-twitter over Michelle Duggar's 18th child:

Congratulations to Michelle Duggar-- pregnant with her 18th child

I don't know how she does it. But wow.

I expect a lot of snide remarks from social liberals.

Well, Suzie, here's a snide remark: If Michelle Duggar is so enamored with kids, why the fuck isn't she out there, adopting some unfortunate tykes who I'm sure would desperately love to be part of an actual family.

Suzie loves to suggest that adoption is such a terrific solution to unwanted kids, yet she falls over herself congratulating the baby-making machine Michelle Duggar who, as far as I can tell, didn't adopt a single one of her precious, squalling little brats. And yet Suzie sees absolutely nothing hypocritical about her stance on this issue.

This is, not surprisingly, par for the course for "talk the talk, but don't walk the walk" whingers like Suzie. They're all for military action overseas, but not for actually doing the serving. And they're all for the catch-all solution of adoption of unwanted kids, as long as it's someone else doing the adopting.

Here's a suggestion, Suze -- if you're such a big fan of adoption, why don't you get off your fetus-obsessed ass and drop a short e-mail to Michelle Duggar, and ask her why, if she's capable of raising 18 kids, she can't seem to find room in that brood of hers for even one underprivileged, adopted child? Or does your interest in other peoples' kids extend only as far as the political mileage you can get out of it in a blog post?

But ... but ... but, how can she possibly adopt some underpriviledged urchin? She's too busy popping out her own football team.

Four more to go for a full US football team complement on both sides of the ball.

But, she does have two full baseball lineups, and only a couple goalies shy of a full hockey team.

I say shy of a couple goalies because it sure looks like she doesn't have one. Someone seems to keep putting those shots into the, dare I say it, yawning cage.

As Stewie Griffin once asked, "So, is there any tread left on the tires? Or, at this point, is it like throwing a hot dog down a hallway?"
