Reality, Raphael. Raphael, reality. Feel free to get acquainted.

Blogging Tory and non-partisan Raphael Alexander briefly checks in from the planet Weembo to introduce us to his favourite delusions:

The United States is known as a mixed demographic between the sexually liberal media and religiously conservative citizens. Of course that's a generalization, but for a country which has been known to openly push the limits of censorship on television, it has an equally strong base of support for those pushing back.

Yes, Raph -- the age-old struggle between the slutty, leftist media, and the God-fearing, prudish moralists. I see it all the time:

Oh, wait ... sorry, wrong porn file. My bad.

FOX isn't so much God-fearing prudish moralists as they are Ratings-fearing obnoxious propagandists.

Not quite. The problem (as usual) is that they're supreme hypocrites. As Gloria Steinem said: "Fox News shows more sexualized violence and humiliation than probably any other network -- all in the name of condemning it -- while under-showing violence in Iraq, all in the name of supporting it."

Yes, Raphael ... the overwhelming hypocrisy. That's what we find so entertaining.

This coming from a guy whose religion is based on polygamy and incest? Right, big surprise.

"Sexually liberal" media? I'm not sure how they can be all that sexually liberal, considering TV broadcasters can be fined even for showing brief, partial nudity -- like the fine levied last week against ABC.

I guess we should just agree that the leftist, sexually liberal media should be chastised for forcing all that liberalism and sexuality down all those conservative citizens' throats. It's quite impressive that the mostly conservative citizens continue to watch TV at all, considering how antithetical the content is to their views. Quite a mystery, there... unless one of our premises is wrong...

Mark my words. One day Sheena's Theory of Foxeletics will be proven true. The only problem is that not enough North Americans have been exposed to enough of the Australian sense of humour to truly understand Rupert Murdoch's master plan.

The problem is that it isn't Australians who are currently delivering Murdochian dialectic on FoxNews.

...they have better senses of humour, whereas FoxNews is completely humourless.
