Peter MacKay, Idiot Son

Minister of Concern Trolling, Weepy Pete MacKay has placed military officials in an awkward spot. His festive holiday pronouncement, celebrating his concerns about Iran shipping weapons into Afghanistan, have forced the general in charge of Canadian forces to do a sweet tap dance.

Canadian military officials in Afghanistan say they're concerned about the influx of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) entering the country from Iran. But they contend there is no evidence the Iranian government is behind the export of weapons that end up in the hands of Taliban fighters.

Children are concerned about the bogeyman living in the shadows of their closets...

But the general in charge of Canadian forces in the country says the source of parts used in the IEDs is unclear.

Canadian soldiers inspect an IED made out of a discarded cooking pot.

"There were parts coming from Iran, there was parts also coming from other countries" said Brig.-Gen. Guy Laroche.  "I cannot say from what I see on the ground that Iran is behind that."

Let's face it, there are bound to be some people in Iran happy to profit from the ongoing mayhem that has been made of the region. But in an official sense, Tehran is certainly much happier with Karzai than with the Taliban. The weapons trade is always suspect, shady and soaked in blood money. Canada is no saint in all of this, as a nation we broker one hell of a lot of firepower in the world. There are some very fancy houses in some of our finest suburbs financed by the sale of the machines of war. The Americans have an abysmal record of keeping track of the tons of weapons and ammo they leave lying about.

The plain fact is that when it comes to playing at organized murder, we're every bit as dirty as anyone else. Funny how today's shocking villain is yesterday's valued customer. After all, where would the Taliban be without the heart felt support of freedom loving American arms traders?

MacKay -- who was accompanied on his trip by David Wilkins, the U.S. Ambassador to Canada -- said Canada had spoken to Iran about the issue on several occasions. But it was the first time that Canada had voiced its concerns publicly.
MacKay said that Canada was "very concerned that weapons are coming from Iran. We're very concerned these weapons are going to the insurgents and keeping this issue alive."

Because the enemy of our enemy is...hey, look a pony!

The Iranians say Canada is merely repeating a familiar U.S. message. Washington has accused Iran of supplying weapons and parts for IEDs to insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan. The U.S. has also claimed that Iran has a nuclear weapons program -- an allegation that was refuted last month by a U.S. intelligence report.

Hmmm, you think? I mean, it isn't like Canada's New Government brand conservative lap dogs are striving for an independent voice when it comes to foreign affairs. MacKay is one inept son of a crooked pol. At least in Rove's better days they achieved proof by repeated assertion by, well, repeatedly asserting things. MacKay just blurts out some unfounded shite, looks dazzled by the camera lights and then wanders off to entertain his fantasies about Mistress Condi's thigh high leather stilettos. If these tweezer headed wannabe cons really want to feed us the big lie, they have to work harder than this. Really, it's embarrassing. Without hammering this theme high and low, day after day, show after show, the only thing it does is leave our military brass blowing in the wind. Now our top general in theater has to step in the murky bullshit, that the utterly fuckwitted MacKay leaves behind, to qualify and explain. Merry belated Xmas general.

What the hell do they need Iran for? After into the invasion the Al Qa Qaa ammo dump was emptied of 757,000 pounds of high explosives. Then of course there's the 130,000 AK-47's the US army was handing out to random people that they just 'lost track of'.

You wanna talk about who is helping the insurgents? Take a look at the criminal incompetence of the Bush administration. Especially since if he hadn't has his wanking fantasy of WMD's in Iraq there wouldn't BE a war or insurgents.
