I think we broke him.

It looks like Matthew at Frat Boy Central aka The Politic, has finally crawled out his hidey-hole and started blogging again. His newest post describes Big Daddy Harper’s certain route to a majority via Native land claims, genetic lottery winners, a Liberal Premier who's lost control of Caledonia, Canada being a sovereign nation as recognized by the U.N. which all leads to 4 new seats in Ontario and an estimated 20 seat pick-up in Quebec.

I think. It’s kind of garbled and incoherent – do you think all that “hate speech” he was subjected to last week made what passes for his brain go bye-bye?

He certainly has an interesting discursive strategy, which I've noticed in his threads again and again and again...

a) Post an ill-informed rant on Aboriginal politics, religion, or "science":
b) Get the shit kicked out of him by better-informed writers who actually know something about the topic area;
c) Sulk, refuse to answer the substantive points, weep about the abuse he's suffering at the hands of people who know what they're talking about;
d) Disappear;
e) Repeat cycle one week later.

I think the guy must be a clinical masochist.

Somebody needs a support group ... oh wait, he's a Blogging Tory. Never mind.

BTW, still waiting for my iPod.

Oh, yeah, that. Apparently it's an O/S driver problem: Microsoft is working on a service pack right now. But the donut came through ok?

I was tempted to leave a comment on that new post of Matthew's, asking when we could expect him to go back and correct the record regarding his hideous ignorance of Charles Darwin but, really, what's the point?

I believe we've established by now that Matthew is, like his co-bloggers at The Politic, just another ignorant, whiny little turd who posts crap and can't tolerate being called on it.

And these are the people who accuse the Left of not being willing to debate the issues. The word "irony" isn't even remotely adequate here, is it?

Besides, your definition of "irony" (you know, the actual one) doesn't fit into Matthew's multi-point version.

The only people I know who are like this are either insane, or liars.

...I still have hope for just the plain ignorant, or the under-educated, or the inexperienced or simply "the young," but I continue to be a little creeped out by all the authorities among the Right who are quite happy to pander to the latter: The CPC, its courtiers and those directing its "New Media" arm, The Blogging Fucking Tories.
