And the truth shall set you free.

KKKate tries poking fun at herself, fails miserably and yet, somehow manages to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth for the first time ever (emphasis gleefully added).

At 1pm EST, I should be on "air" with Michael van der Galien, Editor-in-Chief of PoliGazette . Why he's interested in my worthless opinions is anyone's guess.

Heh. Indeed.

Here's the link if anyone's interested or up to it. Yikes, what an amateur hour production. Sounds like public radio from Deluth.

She's starting to sound like an old granny.

Loony "conservatism" is a harsh mistress, it seems.

That's Duluth. Bastard.

I meant Deluth, MN. You know, by the lake... home of Crabby Bill's. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Duluth? Sounds positively French.

What a pair of dopes the guys interviewing her were. It got worse after she left when they started yucking it up with some other unknown, clueless knob.

Red, don't listen to stuff like that. You'll get brain cancer.

I advanced the clip randomly and caught KKKate blithering on about "they're fine spending other people's money." Jesus Christ...this after two years of Conservatives using taxpayer funds for campaigning and tabling the largest budget in Canadian history.

If I need to hear Republican talking points, I know where the RNC's web site is.

I also had to skip past the part where they discuss the significance of KKKate's "polls." I just could not bear it...

Nice catch. When I read Kate's little message, I thought, there's nothing worse than really, really obvious false modesty. Then I went over to listen and...well, let's just say that I agree with Red Tory. A lot.

You know I've been to Duluth and Canal Park over a dozen times and I had never heard of Crabby Bills. Shows how much I was paying attention. I'd usually go to Grandma's or to Little Angie's for dinner and then down 35 to Fitgers for some yummy micro-brew.

Yeah sure, if by French you mean Norwegian. :-) Not bad in the summer, but I tend not to go up there during winter.

Oh, I know. I used to listen to a little Rush Limbaugh every day. Even in limited amounts it’s still toxic and soul-destroying.

These days I’m working backwards through the last year of Harry Shearer’s brilliant “Le Show” programs. I highly recommend them to anyone who likes their politics and social commentary served up with a good dose of sarcasm (interspersed with funky music and ongoing comedy narratives). Check them out at KCRW.com. Very uplifting in these dark days of wintery malaise.

Good choice Red. I live right at the border, and listen to Le Show from Albany evey Sunday. I wonder if KKKate could listen to 'News from the Warm' without her head exploding?

Now there's an amusing thought!

"I liked the smarts and quite frankly the natural humility too,... (snip)...my kind of sexy!"

Are most of her commenters in fact suitors?

I've noticed this kind of bizzaro "chivalry" phenomenon on numerous blogs that have female posters. If you ever venture over to places like Malkin's or Pam Atlas' you'll see all manner of gentlemen callers who feel an intense need to "protect" their female blogger from any criticism. And the nature of that "protection" takes on a very testosterone-laden tone with things like threats of physical harm.

My own pop-psychological take is that maybe these guys believe that, at some level, they'll have a chance of winning the affections of said blogger if they "beat up" the would-be bully. I would think that said female bloggers would find this sort of thing rather insulting; that they somehow require the protection of a male rather than dispensing with the commenter directly. But a lot tend to demure and thank these guys for their defense. Maybe there are some "daddy issues" that they're trying to work through that would explain this sort of behavior? Who knows.

How come none of you guys are challenging the big BT meanies to pistols at dawn over me?

Oh right, because you respect me and my ability to stand on my own 2 daintily-shod feet. Never mind.
