The few, the proud ... the understaffed.


Uh oh ... following
this link from over at First Draft, we learn that the U.S. Marines are having a bit of trouble filling their quotas:

The Marine Corps for the second straight month in February missed its goal for signing up new recruits, the Marines said on Wednesday, in another sign of the Iraq war's effect on military recruiting.

Gosh, do you think the bad publicity might have anything to do with it?

SNARKY AFTERTHOUGHT: I'm not even going to make the obligatory Jonah Goldberg reference. I doubt the Marines would ever be that desperate.
