Double-plus good David Horowitz update!

It's clear that the David Horowitz story has now reached critical mass with Media Matters weighing in with a new article, on which I'll have more to say shortly.

Sigh. If you're going to make shit up, you can at least give a URL so that others can decide for themselves whether Coulter was just "joking".

Here, let me help you out. Readers? Was Coulter just funning in what she said? Or, if you follow one of the links to see where she said, "My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times Building." Was she just funning there, too?

I swear, in terms of doing actual research, if some of you folks were any lazier, someone would have to chew your food for you and spit it in your mouth.

CC, I've followed this story backwards, from the mention of it in MMFA to Voice in the Wildernesses's post about Barbara Kay's National Post column which led me to finally finish reading your 7 posts on it. Excellent work. I hadn't seen the RudePundit's post on this at all, and it was great.

It's too bad you've got Robbie following you around, making one pointless observation after the other. I hate to be rude this time of morning, but Robbie, you're out of your league on this issue. That last comment about who originally claimed Coulter was "joking" about McVey clinches it.

Originally, "Robbie" wrote:

Whereupon, I did Robbie's work for him in supplying the actual URL (at Media Matters, of all places) so people could see that that wasn't a "joke", and also pointed out her comment about wishing Tim McVeigh had chosen the New York Times building for his bombing attack.

At which point, Robbie wrote:

> I don't know about the McVeigh comment.

Uh ... OK ... so you off-handedly dismissed the claim that Ann Coulter wished violence on journalists, without ever doing enough research to verify that Ann Coulter did, in fact, wish violence on journalists. All documented, of course, at Media Matters.

And that's your defense? Yeesh.

> and thanks for lumping [me] into some sort of misshapen bigoted stereotype you have.

No problem. It's just another service I offer.

That's part of Coulter's shtick: say outrageous things and then claim she was joking when she's called on it. Meanwhile the audience for whom the red meat was intended has gotten the message.

So when the right says something outrageous it was a joke. When the left does, it's shrill. Does that about cover it, robbie?
