Conservative leader Stephen Harper announces support for gay marriage. OK, not really.

(CC News) In an unexpected move that caught many members of the Canadian Parliament by surprise, Conservative leader Stephen Harper, during the vote on the recent budget,
faked as if he was going to stand, then sat back down again.

"Was that funny or what?" Harper later asked reporters. "Sometimes, I really crack me up."

Later, during a discussion on gay marriage, Harper announced, "After a great deal of deliberation, we in the Conservative Party realize that we've been dead wrong about this. We realize it's time to fully embrace the concept of same-sex marriage, to treat all Canadians equally, to treat gays and lesbians with honour and dignity, and in accordance with the Canadian Bill of Rights."

After a short pause, Harper suddenly continued, "Ha ha! Just kidding. Psyche!"
